I think he means having an extra copy of his game saves so that he can continue where he left off if something happens to his current saves on his DS.

Okay, I have been playing around with my R4 for a while now and I just learned how to back up the save data here are the steps 1. Start up your R4 2. Go to games 3. Press select 2 times 4. You will now see the game and the save data of the game click on the SAVE data of the game you want to back up and it will say "Do you want to backup this SAVE? The old backup will be rewritten!" 5. Click okay 6. When you want to see the backup click select 3 times and you will see the backup SAVE data as well now Those are the steps (Not really steps but close enough) Enjoy!
