Ok...this is an illusion you can try at home. According to many eyewitnesses, a moon (preferably full) will look about 2-3 times larger on the horizon than when compared to the sky. If any of you have seen this tell me. Personally i've never seen it myself...

It does.Try it, it looks really big.Kinda like it's coming into the Earth's orbit.Care to explain why to me?I think that it's the angle of reflection and our minds playing a trick on our eyes.But I want to know the real cause. (It's not moving though.)

Ok, actually its because that our brain views the sky as beig bowl shaped rather than hemisphere. Because of this, we think the moon is further away on the horizon when its just as big, and this leads us to believe that the moon looks bigger.

I have seen it with my own eyes ,it was during a harvest moon and it looked HUGE it looked like the was right next to earth
