Why do we yawn?
This question is actual not exactly answered by real life scientist yet but here are a few theories by proffessional (note, the theory that suggests we yawn to get in more oxygen has been disproved).
- fatigue, tiredness - evolution (to intimidate) - to stretch the lungs
Note, a lot of animals also yawn, such as lions.
Your guesses?

I heard that you yawn to cool down your brain.(it has something to do with the chemicals)

Don't actually know why but I think it's because of fatigue like FP said because when you yawn tears will like flow in your eyes and CB is also correct. If you see someone else yawn it will get into your head and you will follow yawning and you can't stop it and I hate chain-yawns!!! (Happened once in class. My friend yawned and I saw it , followed and my other friend did that too and it went on for like 5-6 minutes with a lot of participants excluding the teacher though.)

All the alternatives are correct...
But, animals that yawns do this to intimidate, humans do because of the tiredness... (I dunno exactly what strentch means....but if I'm sure, it's normally too...)
----- Edit ------
Also, when you get some time without air, you usually yawn...
OZ EDIT: Stretch means the same as expand...uh.... like stretching a rubberband.

Some animals do yawn to intimidate but animals will also yawn if they are tired kinda like us humans.

I've heard many ideas as to why we yawn. Many were mentioned already, and I'm not sure why but I always thought I was the only one whose eyes watered when I yawned. Geuss not. My question is why does that happen, what purpose does that serve to the body, er eyes?

I think it's both. When you yawn, you most likely stretch your body. Then your eyes get watery so as to make you feel sleepy. Then, you most likely want to sleep as your eyes will feel heavy after that and your body will feel weird.
