the characters looks semi cool but you know people are going to compare this to bleach in a heart beat

Yup a lot of people are doing so cause Bleach and Soul Eater have an obvious similarity.Plus they also wield weapons like a Shinigami and considering the humor put it really is kinda like Bleach

Well, actually it is very entertaining and funny.Just go do yourself a favor and watch it.It's already up to episode 47 now.
