Final Fantasy 7 is a must! I would like to see Final Fantasy 8 remade too. Megaman would also be a good remake.

Most of the games up there I wouldn't bother remaking as some already have and others I don't care for. Here's my list of games that should be remade as well as my reasoning...
Final Fantasy 9 (PS1) - Now I added this FF but choose and even am against the others, the reason being is simply this. FF9 was at its release under appreciated and only in the last 2-3 years become known as a great game. One of the reasons its taken so long is the art style of the characters, the deformed look turned off countless players (not me). Who had grown accustomed to the gritty realisticness that the more recent FF's were taking such as FF7 and FF8. If this game was remade, it would probably be a big seller and with improved designs for the characters (Like Zidane and Kuja's for Dissidia). It would be more eye pleaseing. Not to mention, despite it being far more fantasy orientated, there were a great deal of impressive CG scenes and locals that would offer a refresing look on a more fantasy orientated world that well... FF6, FF7 FF8, FF10, FF12, and FF13 are straying away from. FF9 was a litteral return to the roots of FF harkening back to FF1-5. So this classic deffinately requires a remake.
Super Mario RPG: Legend of the Seven Stars (SNES) - This was the single greatest RPG to ever occur on the SNES. Sure this would be nice to leave to posterity, but since seeing a sequel is nearly impossible... A remake would be nice. As long as it's not in the Paper Mario or Mario and Luigi style which are just knock offs of this great game.
Bubsy the Bobcat (SNES) - This under appreciated series was a fun bright and light hearted new experience when I was little, the second game was even more entertaining as multiplayer was greatly improved with the addition of the twins. But Bubsy 3D killed the series in it's tracks... I would love to see the series restarted with a 3d much like the Mario/Sonic games of recent years. But with better play handling and have it be a remake of the first game which set the stage that Bubsy once stood on.
Tower of Druaga (Arcade) - This classic is one of the most under appreciated games in modern times, it really set the stage for Legends of Zelda and others that would follow. With the recent anime series based on this classic, an awesome MMO based on it was announced, but I rather have a stand alone RPG because MMO's... Are boring.
Megaman X2 (SNES) - They remade the first one as Maverick Hunter X, so I would love to see a remake of this to continue with the alternate telling and improved graphics, as well as the new villians side game mode.
Megaman 2 (SNES) - Quiet simply...They remade the first one as Megaman Powered Up! They need to make the second as it was by far the most impressive classic Megaman to date.
Starfox (SNES) - Starfox on the SNES is the epitomy of Starfox greatness, the N64 game Starfox 64 was incredible but had lost something in it. All following Starfox games have continued to be pure failures. A remake of the original in updated graphical glory and better engines etc would revitalize the dying Starfox series.
Fire Emblem: Blazing Sword (GBA) - The only reason I am suggesting this, is because this game was the first Fire Emblem game to reach english speaking soils. A gorgeous 3d remake in the lines of it's successors would be a great tribute to how Fire Emblem has become mainstream in the english speaking countries.
Super Battleship (SNES) - It was the first true stratigic navel simulator for the SNES andone of the most fun. It has things that modern ones can not come close to and it provided hours of challenge, as well as have interesting stratigic missions. A remake would deffinately make a great sleeper hit.
Shenmu (DC) - A great and classic game that was very innovative, but saddly due to it being on the Dream Cast, not many people managed to get it. I believe it deserves a Dirrectors Cut re-release on the three giants (Wii, PS3, 360).
Now I'll point out things to counter all the options that others have mentioned.
Tales of Phantasia - I love the Tales series dearly, in fact I happen to have the original Super Famicom version of Tales of Phantasia which started me on my love of Tales. But the need to remake this game when it's been remade countless times with it's latest remakes being on the PS1 and GBA. The need for yet another remake for it is not all that necisary, in fact all Tales games are not ineed of remakes since they all have just had that happen to them. We just need english releases of them.
Final Fantasy 6 - While it was an okay FF, it's popularity isn't really high. It's mainly known for Kefka and Terra (Expecially now that Dissidia is out). It's notoriety really rose to confront the legions of Sephiroth fans but has since begun to dwindle. IMO Kuje > Every other FF Villian. x3
Final Fantasy 7 - The need to remake this is even less than FF6 considering that there's so many off shoots connected to this game. I for one am starting to get sick of Sephiroth and Cloud hogging the spotlight from the other FF heroes and villians. Besides that, not letting personal bias interfear, FF7's graphics are rather corny by modern standards but there is more pressing games that need remakes and this game has managed to stand the test of time admirably.
Final Fantasy 8 - FF8 one of my all time favorites, as much as I would like a remake, I feel that this game should be left for posterity like FF7. If anything it deserves a spin off sequel or sequels, much like FF7 did.
Megaman - It's been remade several times with it's latest incarnation being Rockman Rockman aka. Megaman Powered Up! Which is a major remake.
Golden Sun - A brand new game is coming out and takes place after the first two, the need to have a remake of the first two isn't all that necisary.
Pokemon Gold/Silver/Crystal - This one is obvious as it's already done.
