I doubt this message will last long but:
ADMIN ACCOUNT HAS BEEN HACKED.
All staff has been demoted except ADMIN and KIJAME.
I do not think there is anything we can do...

Indeed. I just re-created my account... oh well I don't really for this forum anymore since it's dead. So why would anyone hack a dead forum?

Proboards has a rollback function, but I'm not sure if it also rolls back accounts.

Unfortunately, the Proboards admin said it was not possible to rollback the forum and thus, the deleted accounts cannot be retrieved. I will now unban those that have been banned.

I thought he meant that it would be possible, it's just that the last backup was after the hack, and the one before that was ages ago. But since it's only accounts and not threads, it's easier to leave it as is and recreate the accounts manually.
And for a while; anyone who needs to recover their profile data, they can grab most of it off Google cache. (google your username and this site, then click cache)

It was only hacked because they managed to hack into FP's hotmail account, and then (from www.stopforumspam.com/ipcheck/187.86.20.254 ) they seem to be targetting forums attached to those emails for some reason; even if the forum was dead. |
