Would there happen to be anyone on this forum who knows how to add cookies to a show/hide div tag? So that on the first visit it will show the shoutbox, then you can choose to hide it and it will remain hidden until the cookie gets deleted or until you choose to unhide it.
BTW, anyone who says anything to do with referring cookies to food in this thread will receive a 3 day ban.

Have you tried asking the proboards help foum? I doubt they'll be able to help you, but if someone MIGHT be able too. I personally dont even know how to work HTML. Stuff's too confusing for me. XD
If not, id just start posting crap in like Yahoo answers and help forums and stuff lol.
And you can ignore the rest. XD
I can has cookies? Like the cookies... especially the chocolate chip and sugar ones....

Is there any currently existing cookies on this forum? I'm not too sure, but I was reading stuff on creating cookies at w3schools, and I guess it wouldn't be too hard if you replaced the 'name' value with a binary value, where 0=Show, and 1=Hide, and then use an If statement retreive the setting to show or hide the shoutbox respectively when the forum loads. Seeing you already know how to show or hide the shoutbox, when said person show/hide the event, overwrite the new value with the old one in their cookie. Or don't use 0 and 1, but "show" or "hide" or something..and this is all just theoretically guessing, so yeh.. |
