Charizar, I think that the first 150 Pokés are the best, but maybe I think that way becuase I started to play Pokémon games since the first ones, Red and Blue.

For me it's: Gen 1: Squirtle and Charmander.Squirtle becomes one of the most powerfull pure water types out there and has some of the best moves. Charmander becomes the versitile Charizard that can learn both Dig and Fly, two moves that can save it from it's weaknesses. It is also one of the most powerfull Fire types. Gen 2: CyndaquilCyndaquil becomes one of the better pure Fire types out there with a strong move list and decent stats. Gen 3: TorchicTorchic is cute and evolving it is a sin to nature as it becomes one of the ugliest looking pokemon ever. Keeping it cute and adorable is the way to go. Gen 4: Chimchar and PiplupChimchar becomes one of the fastest Fighting type pokemon which Fighting is the strong element of the 4th Gen. It's fire moves make it equally good against a wide variety of things and due to it's duel nature it is both strong and weak against it's rival Piplup and it's evolved forms. Piplup is one of the best duel type waters in existence, it's evolutions increase in power and with a combo ofbeing both steel and water, make it effective against many encounters. On another note... I like Pikachu, but it's over rated thanks to the anime. Personally I am now sick of it's existence. Way to go anime... -x-

My favorite starter pokemon is probably mudkip, I like almost all of the water starters more than the others, as the games seem less hard for me. (the boring kind of hard)
