it's because of its ability drizzle (auto rain, water move power boost) and water spout and high SP Attack and STAB on water spout. right?

Yes, true.But kyogre has high sp.def that helps it survive other pokemon's moves which do "super effective " damage.And the weaknesses of kyogre (such as electric or grass) mostly use rely on sp. atk.And water spout mostly rely s on the user's HP.
Oh and my favorite legend is Mewtwo.Since mewtwo has a big move pool,it can use one of the moves it can learn to defeat his opponent.In the case if he is fighting a dark type such as darkrai,which is quite slower than mewtwo, he could just use aura sphere.

when i say my favourite is Kyogre, thats only for the original games (diamond, pearl, emerald, etc...)
but for Mystery Dungeon, my fav. will definately be Articuno.
My articuno's move set is MindReader/SheerCold (linked, so instant kill), blizzard (effect all enemies) and water pulse (for pokemon with sturdy are mainly rock types).
