i dont think this is related, but anyway...
i think pkmn is actually designed for an older audience. Even though it has themes for younger audiences (grunts choosing NOT to bash the crap out of you when they lose), what kind of game for small kids talks about dissolved sodium and clhorine ions?! (in the nautical museum in slateport

Ruby and Sapphire
Firered and Leaf Green, (remakes) then Emerald. (I remember I got it 3 days early because I pre-ordered it)
Diamond and Pearl
Platinum
(then possibly a g/s remake. but Red/Green were the originals, I understand that remake...but maybe...)
