platinum is only slightly different from d/p. the storyline is basically the same, same gyms. main difference is that u can get both pokemon: dialga + palkia. the hp bar looks different as well.

They also changed some of the gym's looks and they made Wi-Fi better and they added new places it is much better |

Platinum is a rather major improvement over Diamond or Pearl. There are far more legendaries and the Battle Frontier as well.

This game actually has a lot more than D/P. It has the WiFi Plaza, new characters, etc, which makes it awesome.
