Okay, I'll make a new thread soon. Maybe in the next hour or two. Anyway, idk about the Ortega method thing. I've been solve on layer myself, then using one of the sune algs... it looks the same?

In Ortega, you solve a side, not layer. It's like building the first corners on a 3x3 without caring where it goes. THen you use the OLL algorithms, 7 to memorise, to orient the top layer. Then you use one of the 5 PBL (Permute both layers) algorithms to fix it all up.

Ah... i've sorta done that before. I've like, solved a side, then just fixed it with an alg, and then just fixed the other side. Idk. I'm not planning on speedsolving it. Its a rubiks brand, so it locks up like a beast lol.

Hey, isn't that every non-cuber's fear?

I suppose so, and there's prolly enough vidios out there to help you, but i think a Square-1 is an exception to the rule...
Aslo, i'm working on intuitive F2L. I think i've pretty much got it down, i just need speed. That, and i need a new way to do the last layer, other than Dan Brown's R' D' R D
I'm thinking about fixing the top face using R U R' U R U2 R', then switching the corners using 2x2 corner switching algs, and then the Allen method for fixing the edge pieces. I'm going to memorize some stuff today, and hopefully my times will get faster. Because Intuitive F2L isnt helping. Its not severely cutting my time down. ONly by 30 seconds. I mean it could be worse lol. but i think i'm getting to the point where i need to just start combining different methods...
New PB of 42 seconds!

Erm...not trying to pour cold water or anything but mixing methods can only get you so far. Your only bet of getting faster is practicing fingertricks and memorizing OLL's and PLL's. ( That is quite a pain, I admit it, since I don't really have time )
And for the OLL's and PLL's, just memorize those that are likely to happen during your solve. You should notice that some patterns appear more often compared to other patterns. So you could neglect those 'rare' cases first. Memorizing and making yourself familiar with OLL's and PLL's can cut your time up to 20-25 seconds. So keep it up guys ^.^

But i dont know what any of that means. I only want to get so far. I'll never enter a tournament or a competition. I just want to beat the kids at school. OLLs and PLLs are just letters to me. I know what they mean, but i dont know what they are. PLus, i have my method down. All that i need to do is memorize the algs, and then just practice. I dont plan on getting anything with this skill lol. Just useless stuff that may come in handy in the future.

Do 2-Look-PLL. Just 7 algs. You Permute the edges first. Then the corners.

Well i do the corners first, then just do the Allen twice. Its easier to remember for me. I just realized i need to quit cubing. -.- My times arent improveing, no matter how many times i pratice. My times are actually slowing. I'm going backwars from what i am supposed to be going. NOthing is working anymore. I quit. -.- And i also think im getting a square 1! Along with a a paraminx, a QJ timer, a ghost hand 2x2, and a lan lan void cube. The cart list is right in front of me... my parents never closed the window.

The one thing about F2L is that your times get gradually worse but after getting used to it, you'll start to improve dramatically. It even happens to the World Record Holder. Just have patience, young grasshopper.

No, i mean my times are getting slower overall. My fingers aren't really limber much anymore, and my speed is screwed up. I dont have a set like..... idk the word.... tempo, i guess. MY moves are out of sync with each other

A while ago, I went to some place and they there were free cubes xD apparently there are words on it, so by the time I align the colour, the words get messed up >_< and vice versa. any guides on solving these kind of cubes?
