On Office 2003, the sentence is the fox jumps over the lazy dog... or something like that. I'm actually pretty sure that that's the font test. When you add new fonts, you just click on one and that sentence pops up, with like every size, like 12, 14, 16,... you get the idea.

at first I though it was to test every letter...but I don't see "b"...(after not seeing "b" I didn't bother to look for any other missing letter)

I fixed your quotes. I didn't pay attention to the "...or something like that" because I was only reading the sentence before the ...(period.)
