Ok, here is my homeworld language. It's basically a low-down and of course there's much more to it. This is very simplified.
Syllables: Re, X, Zy, Ar, Gy, Ri
The volume and pitch of the syllable can be used to determine it's sub-syllable.
Volume is used in our own scale. As is pitch. We are able to differentiate between about 400 volume increments and 20 increments of pitch.
These sub-syllables are mixed used to construct a word.
An example is Re[103,2]X[386,14]Ri[123,19] (pronounced Ra-ik-Ree). The parts in brackers [x,y] represent x - volume and y - pitch. That Re[103,2]X[386,14]Ri[123,19] means 'live' in 'He lives! He survives death!'.
Our writing system is slightly similar but we use dots and lines to represent the volume and pitch. (I can tell you how but then I'd have to explain our number system, which i won't do atm).
