I've wondered for a reallllllllly long time. What's the real effect and cause of Subliminal Messages. I don't think I've encountered one before. I know what it is, just not the exact thing.

It's a message that is hidden and may affect your subconsciousness. Examples are 'go to www.windowslivemessenger.com for more assistance' - that is subliminal advertising. Another one: "I'll be wearing a blue tie, pay attention to it. There are a hundred and one ways this could go wrong." Now obviously this has no affect on you guys, but if someone actually lives near and knows 'Taipei 101', a tower in Taiwan, well. He will probably choose the meeting location there. That's unbelievable....If tv stations put some subliminal messages during shows or news broadcasts we'd all be in chaos. (If the message is fight or something.) Maybe teachers might result to using subliminal messages so that they can make us study.

The only true subliminal message I ever heard was on a movie (I think almost everybody heard of the movie that show'd some coca cola messages and when the movie ended people went to buy some...)

Some Ads do use subliminal messages, in most cases our mind is able to make the better judgement. Most ads use SUPERlminal messages like 'BUY THIS PRODUCT!' 'ITS GOOD FOR YOU!'

'Clean up your room'. Hmmm, I might be influenced actually. When I saw a video with a Subliminal Message that said in general to watch the video a couple hundred times, I didn't.
