Ah...this question has been asked plenty of times. I know the answer of course, i'll just see what you guys think first. And if you know it, hang back a little and wait til everyone has had a try. BONUS: Why is the water blue? Like oceans...

I know why the sky is blue but I am not going to say it. and the ocean is blue because blue wavelengths are absorbed by the deep ocean water and are moved around and reflected back to the person's eyes.is that right?

Thats pretty much it. Basically, its the reflection of the sky. XD

if its the reflection of the sky then if the sky was scarlet then the water would be scarlet! that would be cool

lol yeah. What do you think happens when there's a red moon? (Seen one before)
You can also dye the water, but you need a LOT of dye

it would probably take thousands of dollars to do that to an ocean.(and it probably would not be legal)and I guess u mean u have seen a lunar eclipse.what I want to see is a solar eclipse

gah, I remember learning this in 4th or 5th grade... something about blue being in the sky more than red during the daytime...and at sunset the red light is in the sky more than the blue...(and yeah, the ocean is blue because its a reflection of the sky...and theres always a blue sky somewhere btw)

Blue light refracts more, so the blue light refracts everywhere in the sky, thus making the sky look blue. Refraction remember not reflection. In the evenings when the sun is on the horizon the red light penetrates more thus the horizon appears red.

What I know: The sun prdouces seven wavelengths of color, on the something-scale. Red, orange, yellow, green, blue, indigo, purple. Blue is the most produced, so the light beams spread. Red, orange, and yellow produced least, explains why the sun are those colors, I think. For green...I dunno.

Yeah, seven colors that make up the rainbow.Basically speaking there is only white in the sky.And it is true that blue is the most refracted because of the water in the air and this makes the sky blue.Other colors are also refracted that is why sometimes people see red or green colors in the sky.

The sky isn't blue, it's mroe violet than blue, but our eyes capt more blue, green and red than other colors, so we see it as blue =p
