^^ means SinCosine is talking (cos I (Magical) just modded this post)...so the post is SinCosine's (or ~FRoSt~'s). ~Heyho everyone~ This is the first of the Psych tips on this forum. It's called ~Happiness = Number One!~ So I'll begin ^^ In life happiness is the number one thing! Not academics or wealth, happiness is. Being a psychiatrist focusing on teenagers the factor of parents pressing their children for academics is kinda an issue and as I've said if the guy ain't happy then academics "ain't gonna do s***" ^^ Free time is necessary for everyone, continuous study is a bit useless and really just gets the child's brain muddled up. Free time is necessary as it allows the brain to think back over and gives the brain time to absorb and soak up the information studied up before. Without happiness the child will only get upset and being upset lowers the rate of taking in information. Too much study or work and such will simply cause depression which is not good and will result in having to see a real psychiatrist. Depression is difficult to combat for a regular parent with no knowledge of psychiatric techniques and may be difficult to notice. Depression in some cases may be hard to spot and may result in sudden action, even suicidal behaviour - thus never overload stress on a child. Also to the parent, if you think you're putting too much stress please ask the child and don't just wait and see... To you guys ^^ if you think your parents are putting too much stress unto you, or if school, work, etc are please tell them ^^ If you don't and they don't know, they'll just keep on pressing you and giving you more work, etc. Happiness comes from a sense of achievement such a just finished completing something. Yeah, finishing your homework does make you happy! You just had this load of homework to do and now you finished it all! In time too! Happiness also comes from love and mutual friendly relationships, meeting new people, marriage, etc There are a lot of things that make people happy and too much I can explain all of them! Anyways have fun, be happy and as ~Master Absurdity~ says ' Live Freeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee'. *The motto is really good, bcos it actually means 'be happy', 'live life nice', 'don't let people restrain you from the things you want to do' and 'be optimistic'.

I agree with SinCosine. Happiness certainly is the most important thing ^^ No point in living if you're always miserable. xD

I'm not always miserable but I can't say I'm very happy most of the time... (kinda bumping a thread from a few months back but does it really matter? I never understood why anyone cared how old something was D: )

I'm always happy as happiness to me, is being me and enjoying life in general. I accept the ups and downs each one makes me happier. So personally... I think Happiness is the simple things in life. Not some psychiatric mumbo jumbo about accomplishments etc. That's only for those people who feel the need to be competitive. Not everyone is competitive... The whole thing is like a shot in the dark with a shotgun, you'll eventually hit something but never express the real issue. A prime example would be an Old Penut's comic collection I have... It's called. "Happiness is a Wet Kiss from your Dog." It covers how simple things like a warm blanket on a cold day is Happiness. That is what true happiness is, simpel enjoyable things.
